Elika - Nowhere

Got some stuff the other night from Brooklyn's own Elika. It's different from all the heavy club stuff I normally mention on the site, but that's a very good thing.

The duo, Evagelia Maraveliasis and Brian Wenckebach, are best described as a mix of ambient-rock-vocal-electronic. It really makes me think of a meeting of Ulrich Schnauss, Madonna's singing, and a bit of Ladytron for good measure. It works; Evagelia's wonderfully lush vocals and the minimal soundscape with crunching guitars is a great sound to just listen and let your mind flow to.
