Silent Rave New York
Silent Rave New York already went down, but I still felt it was worth mentioning. This has happened numerous times around the country (and world), but from what I know this is the first one this year. Basically the idea is that folks come out with their iPods and dance to their own grooves, having a completely quiet, yet energetic, dance party.
Some organizers have gone a step further and introduced wireless headsets with a DJ spinning, such as at this year's Coachella music festival.
