Did you know über-talented illustrator McBess has a band called The Dead Pirates with fellow designer Simon? Well, the two teamed up with superhouse the Mill and created this music video for their band. The result is a fantastic piece done in McBess's signature drawing-style, all in black and white, and with a fun little story. Looking forward to seeing more from the two and hearing more of their music.
From their debut The Son of Apollo, NASA's "Gifted" is absolutely gorgeous with its abstract universe and mind-voyage concepts. Lots of design elements we've seen before, but the package together looks fantastic.
The Friendly Fires have a new video out folks. Directed by Clemens Habicht, the concept is a play on the track's title. How did they do it? It might look like motion graphics, but it's actually double-sided sticky tape with a ton of bean bag balls!
No this isn't a post about a DJ, or a band, or even a director or music video.
It's about another blog post, actually a feature on another great blog called CreamTeam. The picture above is the actual post.
See, here's the thing. One of their writers' laptop messed up and they had to figure out a way for him to keep posting without a computer. Solution? He brings the CD to the other blogger and draws his review up by hand. They call it the Analog Blog, like it used to be.
Cool, old-school, and actually really clever. I think it's more interesting than a regular old post and definitely unique. I thought it was fan art at first, like at the front page of Wizard comics magazines back in the day. Uh-oh, did the geek in me come out? The Analog Blog
Together since June of this year, The American Dream Team are probably the most talented VJs/musicians I know of in Brooklyn. It's really hard to find people who can balance design and music skills so well as these guys do, and even rarer to do them do both live. They're fantastic in that respect, and they DJ and VJ with a shitload of gear that promises to make it an experience to remember. Their original productions and remixes are top-notch and true-to skill mixtapes showcase their talents even more.
Here's the HD clip from their forthcoming docu flick. Like I said, TADT are ninja motion Visual DJs. You have to see them immediately if you have the chance!
UPCOMING DATES:
12/5 - San Diego, CA @ Feel the Noise 12/31 - Brooklyn, NY @ Famous Friends NYE Bash w/ Kill the Noise

I'm sure most of you are familiar with Pantone, the company best known for its proprietary color matching system. Lately a lot of clothing companies, including Uniqlo, have released Pantone lines of tee shirts for the art/design crowd but why stop there? Pantone now has its own collection of eyewear that allows you to swap the arms to accent your frames and whatever else your wearing at the time. Just don't color match your day-glo nikes.
This is more than music, its a lifestyle and I've been brought on board to blog about it. Expect to hear about the latest in fashion, art and design in my post.
