If you're not too burnt out from the massive Minitek festival, Asterix and I will be DJing as HiDeaf representing the Subdrive crew at Biatch Corp'sSpiegeltent party on Sunday, September 14th. It's a pretty big lineup for New York underground music which has a lot for the minimal, tech, and house crowd.
We're on for two hours, so this is definitely an event you shouldn't miss. It's during the day, under the brooklyn bridge with hammocks and a dance floors right next to the water! If you liked our sets at the BEMF and other parties, be sure to check us out and support!

Another party of ours is coming up fast! Next Saturday, May 31st, we're throwing a BBQ and outdoor dance party at Hope Lounge in Brooklyn. It's an early event, starting at 3pm and going until sundown...or until the neighbors shut us down. We've got DC's own Terror Dactel, myself and my boy Asterix as HiDeaf, and Famous Friends' Bradley D providing the tunes for the afternoon.
It's free and there's going to be tons of food and booze, so come through and have a good time!
Sorry everybody on the lack of updates, I was out of the country on holiday, but lots of stuff and news to announce and post!
So first thing's first, our next LAWLESS party is on February 15th, 2008 at Hope Lounge here in Brooklyn, NY. Headlining our latest soirée are none other than Subdrive favorites Sta and Brooklyn's own Cousin Cole!
We featured Sta back in November and since then he's completed his "In Living Colour" EP, which will be out tomorrow, January 28th, on Marine Parade. The EP rocks the original "In Living Colour" track, plus a new track called "Sex", and a DIM remix of ILC. Trust me, pick it up, it's awesome. The tracks are going to destroy dance floors for some time. Coming all the way from Toronto, this is going to be his Brooklyn-debut so come support the man, pick up "In Living Colour", and dance! Download and listen to his awesome In Living Colour promo mix he sent us while you get psyched for the party!
Cousin Cole will be rocking the decks hard as well. The man has got his "Tambourine Dream" Ep out. He sent us some shots of the picture disc and it looks fantastic. You can pick up the 12" on his myspace! He also sent us his great remix of "Let Me Clear My Throat" and I was unable to post it up due to my trip, here it is!
The party is 21+ and is FREE w/ rsvp. Thanks to Hepcat Music who were awesome enough to sponsor the event, so make sure you come early and stay late!!
It's my sad duty to announce the end of the Subdrive radio show. We had a good solid 2 years, but the live broadcast is over. We're still going to be posting shows though however they'll be only on the podcast. Anyhows, sorry folks for not updating the blog in months. Shit got crazy so I had to focus on my design work. However, it's summer and that means regular posts! So here's an update of all the stuff we've been up to since the last post.
Lawless parties...will continue. We're working on the next one and we're shooting for August so keep it posted here.
Regularly posted mixes when I get them, and more goodies.
Anyhows. Here's the newest episode of Subdrive. Don't hold it against me that the mixing is a bit odd, this was a quick last minute mix before I drove down to DC, but a start nonetheless!
Cheers.
Tracklisting:
1. Datarock - Fa Fa Fa (Shakes Remix)
2. Digitalism - Pogo (Mentalism Remix)
3. Black Strobe - I'm A Man (Black Strobe Remix)
4. Yelle - A Cause Des Garcons (Riot In Belgium Remix)
So the second coming is here. LAWLESS numero dos is gonna be exploding in your face on March 8th, 2007 at Galapagos Art Space. You can check out myself, Eric Wrenn, Tony Jasper, Super Vixen, Iron Lyon, Yamez, and Complex dropping some excellent tunes for you all night starting at 10pm. Oh and there are two open bars thanks to the great folks at Everglo.
Remember to RSVP before March 8th, 2007 to get in for $5 instead of $8!
I've been extremely busy as of late with work and the Lawless party; it slipped my mind to post this. I did a mix a few weeks ago for the fine Argentine podcast DJs Are Persons. The concept of their posts is like a record/mixtape; there's a side A and a side B. Pretty clever, huh? Some great mixes there from up and coming DJs/producers including former regular Subdrive dj Lazaro Casanova. Check it out as they post new mixes regularly.
It's been two years since the show started on Pratt Radio (February 7th, 2005 was the first post), it's amazing how much things change in two years! I'm really happy to see how far we've come, first by adding more DJs to the show, the expansion of the podcast, and now the monthly party!
And it's official, since day 1 we've had over 59,549 DOWNLOADS of the show!!! More to come in 2007, so stay tuned. Thanks to everyone for downloading, tuning in live, and coming out to the party!
In celebration, I thought I'd highlight some important sets on the show:
On January 20th Subdrive threw its first club party! The turnout was awesome and the Subdrive crew served up some excellent tunes all the way into the wee hours of the morning. Here's my set from the party. Enjoy!

New episode, some new music! Here's an explanation of the new titling system. Whenever you see a name next to the episode, that is the DJ that's hosting/spinning that episode. Now you'll know which episodes are mine (Galbis), Lazaro's, or Xacto's. Good stuff! Here's the tracklisting:

Season 4 has finally arrived! We started it out with a three-hour block with back to back sets from Xacto, new resident Lazaro Casanova, and myself (Galbis)! Be sure to tune in every week for new episodes hosted by one of the Subdrive DJs. Be sure to check out our new website, www.subdrivemedia.com for everything Subdrive!
Here's a clip from Galbis' show in Silver Spring, MD on July 15th. The concert was a seamless mix of live performance and DJing that showcased live remixing and new tracks from Galbis and other artists. Take this as a preview of what's to come in the upcoming season of Subdrive!
It's finally here, the end of Season 3! Tonight's show is a two-hour special with back-to-back sets from residents Xacto and Galbis spinning some hot techno and electro. The show's taking a break for a little bit but you'll still receive hot new Selektors (next up is Angel Alanis), the new Subdrive TV (starting soon!), and some more goodies. Stay tuned, you won't be dissapointed!
Back with some fresh dance rock, this time from some unknowns who you may know sooner than you think! First track this week is from Kingston, NY natives FantomFrequency with "All Your Love", sounds like high-paced punk blended with synth-pop. Then Subdrive veterans Infinite Number of Sounds with "Kiss My Converse".
Galbis is back this week from his two week hiatus with some banging hot new tunes ranging from electro to drum 'n bass. Preview of the new Galbis track, and two indie premieres of Metrocide's "Go East (Konversion Remix)" and La Phaze...a French punglist band. Yea, Punglist...its punk + jungle...similar to Destination Zero. Send me your thoughts and feedback, e-mails on the site!
