This Weekend - Streetlab + Xavier of Justice
Ok quick post about some events this weekend! I wanted to make sure all of the New Yorkers here get to the
Apple Store in Soho tonight at 7pm for a FREE performance by our favorite electronic-rockers
Streetlab. Bring some friends, check out some laptops, and hear the guys throw down a full-on live set.
Then later tonight, check out Xavier de Rosnay of
Justice fame DJing in the Webster Hall grand ballroom.

We sure do love
Streetlab around these parts. They just sent us their latest cut from their upcoming EP titled
Bootlegs and B-Sides filled with the aforementioned, of course.
You may know this track if you downloaded
their SELEKTOR mix recently. It's The Beatles' classic "Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club" with a very familiar Streetlab touch: the deep bass, pumping beat, and that energetic but laid back energy the boys lay onto their tracks.

Streetlab, sent us their remix of
Passion Pit's "Sleepyhead". They took the original concept and fleshed out the sonic scape, adding much more bass and a thicker kick drum with a driving beat. Still dreamy and chill, but with some more
oomph. I honestly prefer it to the original and it's a perfect track to throw on to open up a set or party.

Streetlab, just sent us their latest mix of Kanye's "Love Lockdown". It's a grindin', bumping mix that will definitely get you in the mood for a full night of partying.

Day after Halloween treat for you all! I first came across
Streetlab earlier this year on the pages of Going.com. But before then, they had a remix played on the BBC's Radio 1, the guys have released their first track on RCRD LBL/Downtown
for free download and are playing a bevy of live shows in NYC and hopefully soon abroad.
Streetlab might bring to mind old-school bigbeat acts like the Chemical Bros and Crystal Method, but their sound is all their own with a harder and four-four rock rhythm which is straight up for dancing. You can hear it in the stuff they produce as well as in their choice and style of remixes. It comes as no surprise that their SELEKTOR mix is tinged with their own recuts of some pretty big rock tracks as well as original tracks from their new EP.
So now that you know who they are, or at least a little bit more about them, I'm psyched to share their SELEKTOR mix, made exclusively for Subdrive, to help promote their new EP out now at all digital shops and on a cool
limited-edition USB-wristband format.
